Mr. Battaglia received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Stony Brook University, majoring in History.
Mr. Battaglia is a graduate of New York Law School and received an internship with former Attorney General Janet Reno, where he was assigned to the Major Crimes Division for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. While there, he was responsible for assisting in the prosecution of alleged capital offenders and preparing memorandum of law in preparation for trial which explored the foundations of certain constitutional principles. Subsequent to this, he worked in the Litigation Division of a nationally recognized retail organization. His graduating thesis was entitled Antitrust Implications of Radius Clauses in Shopping Center Leases.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Battaglia obtained moderate to large size law firm experience. Mr. Battaglia has appeared in the state courts of New York from Orange County Supreme Court, in upstate New York, to Westhampton Village Court, all the way out on the east end of Long Island, and all venues in between. He is also licensed to practice before the Federal bench.
As a private practitioner with a wide variety of experience, Mr. Battaglia has worked in all areas of matrimonial and related family court matters, including divorce, separation, child custody, visitation and support issues. Mr. Battaglia represents clients in court, manages all phases of litigation and conducts negotiation conferences with respect to marital property. Residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as debtor and creditor issues, have also been at the forefront of his practice.
