Sonya Gidumal Chazin is an Associate with the law firm of Koehler & Isaacs LLP, and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment group. Ms. Chazin was born and raised in New York City and attended the Bronx High School of Science. After graduating from Barnard College, Columbia University, she then attended law school at the Washington College of Law, American University, where she served as the Executive Editor for the Administrative Law Journal. During her time as editor, her article McCarthy v. Madigan, Exhaustion of Administrative Remedies and Bivens was published. Ms. Chazin and her family spent 20 years living in Hoboken, New Jersey and have recently returned to New York City.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chazin practiced in various areas of the law. Her previous firm was one that specialized in Creditor’s Rights, where she appeared regularly in the Chancery Court of New Jersey. It was there that she handled various cases in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, the US District Court of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Before that, she practiced in the area of Insurance Defense in both New York and New Jersey.
