Stephanie A. Swinton

Ms. Swinton is an associate with the law firm Koehler and Isaacs in the General Civil litigation Unit. Ms. Swinton received her Bachelor’s degree from Long Island University, majoring in Journalism. She attended New York Law School while employed at the New York State Department of Law as a paralegal in the Real Estate Financing Bureau.

Ms. Swinton graduated from New York Law School in 1994 and continuedemployment at the New York State Department of Law as an Assistant Attorney General in the Real Estate Financing Bureau, reviewing sponsor offering plans for newconstruction cooperative, condominiums, timeshares and homeowner’s associations. She also reviewed evictions
and non-eviction offering plans for buildings converting from rental to ownership status.

In 2000, Ms. Swinton joined Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Legal Services Corporation as a housing attorney representing low income tenants on housing matters.

In 2002, Ms. Swinton became an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Harry Hertzberg, representing clients on a variety of civil matters, such as residential and commercial eviction proceedings, NYCHA hearings, Article 78 proceedings, divorce, child support, custody and visitation, bankruptcy, wills, power of attorney, probate, administration, guardianship, name change, and other civil matters. In 2005, she opened her own law practice representing clients in civil matters.
