Julie A. Ortiz

Julie A. Ortiz is an associate with the law firm of Koehler & Isaacs LLP and a member of the firm’s labor and employment group. She graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in legal studies and a minor in English. She received her Juris Doctor from the City University School of Law in 2004. During law school, Ms. Ortiz interned at the Office of the New York State Attorney General in their Litigation Bureau and assisted in the representation of New York State Troopers and New York State Corrections Officers in various Section 1983 litigation.

Ms. Ortiz’s entire career has been spent in representing and defending both public and private entities in matters inclusive of Labor and Employment, Section 1983 and Education. She has extensive litigation experience inclusive of trial and appellate practice. She has been successful on several motions for summary judgment and successful before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She has appeared for trials and mediations before the New York State and Federal Courts, EEOC and New York State Division of Human Rights.
